COLOR ADVERTISING RATES
$75.00 per spot color per page; $150.00 full color
Rates shown are flat charges regardless of ad size to be added to space
charges. Color availabilities are limited - reservation should be made as soon
as possible.
ADVERTISING SERVICE CHARGES
a. Disk Prints - Zip Disk, or CD. Up to 1/2 page, $16.00 for first
print; 1/2 page to full page, $21.00 for first print; each additional print 1/2
price.
b. Tearsheets - At time of publication, no charge; after 45 days, $4.00 each.
c. Photograph or scans - $25.00
PRINTING/SPECIAL SERVICES
a. Clip art services available to advertisers with assistance from employee.
b. Layout and copy service is provided at no charge to the advertiser if
published within 30 days.
c. Logo designs available at additional cost.
d. Printing services for letterhead, envelope, business cards, etc., available.

ROP DEPTH REQUIREMENTS
a. Ads must be as many inches deep as columns wide.
b. Step down ads accepted at option of The Village Advocate
c. All local advertising is sold in increments of an inch. Minimum depth is one
(1) column inch.
CONTRACT REGULATIONS
a. Specific contracts with minimum space designated must
be signed in advance to qualify for contract rates.
b. Ads simulating news matter will be clearly labeled as advertising.
c. Credit must be established prior to charging advertising
d. The Village Advocate reserves the right to revise
advertising rates at any time upon 30 days written or verbal notice
e. All ad copy and contracts subject to acceptance by
the publisher of The Village Advocate.
f. Combining of space by two or more firms under the same
ownership to establish a contract rate must receive prior approval.
CLOSING TIMES
a. Cancellations - Composition charges on cancelled ads will
be $4.00 per column inch if not published within 30 days.
Cancellations must be made no later than 10 a.m. Friday for Wednesday publication.
b. Deadlines - Wednesday issue, Friday at 5:00 p.m.

3 columns: 5”

SPECIAL CLASSIFICATION RATES
a. Position - Every effort will be made to honor position requests with no guarantee.
Preferred or guaranteed position will cost 25% extra and is subject to availability
b. Church/Civic Established Non-Profit Groups - will receive a 15% discount of earned rate

TERMS OF PAYMENT
a. Cash with copy
b. Credit - Except for established credit with The Village Advocate,
all advertising payable in advance.
c. Interest - A monthly finance charge of 11/2 % will be added to all balances
over 30 days old. In the event of default and/or failure to pay, the buyer
promises to pay all costs or expenses incurred in the collection of the
account including reasonable attorney and court fees and any additional
costs incurred for collection.
GENERAL POLICY
a. Tearsheet furnished with each weekly invoice or in reasonable quantity,
when requested at time of placing ad. These tearsheets cannot be replaced.
b. Political Advertising - All political advertising payable in advance and must include disclaimer.
c. Errors - Proofs can be furnished for 1/8 page or larger so
the advertiser may proof his ad at The Village Advocate Office.
The Village Advocate assumes no liability for errors in ads which have been proofed by advertiser.
If The Village Advocate is proven the cause of the error, the newspaper
will (when contacted within 48 hours of the error) publish at no charge that portion of
the ad in which the newspaper error appears. A letter of correction will be provided to be posted in
the advertiser's store.
The newspaper shall have no further liability to advertiser.
d. Copy Approval - All advertising submitted is subject to the approval of The Village Advocate publisher.
The Village Advocate reserves the right to refuse or cancel any advertisement at any time.
e. Agency Discounts - 15% off current rate card and only to recognized or
accredited agencies. Discount will only apply when all accounts are paid
within 45 days. Negotiated and specially priced ads, advertorials, or any
discounted packages are non-commissionable.
f. Representation - No representative of The Village Advocate is authorized
to make oral/written modifications to the rates and regulations contained in this Rate Card or contract.
No advertisment to appear upside down without management approval and disclaimer.
